This guitar wiring modification shows how to use a three position single pole-double throw ON/OFF/ON mini switch to coil tap a standard four wire humbucker to either Coil. In the Center position, the pickup will be in full humbucker mode with strong output smooth attack and a deep tone. The other two switch positions select either the North or South coils. In either single coil mode, the tone will be slightly different with slightly lower power and a sharper attack. Note: that in either single coil mode, the pickup is no longer hum canceling so a small amount of 60Hz hum may be heard.
